EMPOWER WOMEN CHILDREN & DISABLED PERSONS INITIATIVE (EWOCDI) as the name donates is a formidable foundation to many needy widows and indigent people with the aim of making them better People for the society.

The foundation has trained more than Two hundred widows and indigent people in the art of Chin-chin making, small cup cakes, Plantain chips, banana chips Popcorn making, Ice cream, Cookie production, Bread making, Liquid soap production, Detergent production Chalk making, Candle making, Insecticide production, Rodent Killer production, paint making, Polish making, gum production, Cold Starch production, Car wash liquid production, air freshener production, Carbon black production, Shaving powder production, chocolate drinks making, yoghurt making, Soya milk drink, Fruit Juice, Zobo Drink, Custard Powder, Kunu Drinks, Fashion Designing and cosmetic making.
Many of these beneficiaries have been taught the complicated art of making all assorted types of the above businesses which sounds incredible but real. It does not only impact the skills on the beneficiaries, the foundation still gives these give this women money to get them established in these small scale  businesses to enable them stand on their own.

Furthermore, in order to allow the stress of catering for their families overwhelm the gains of their budding businesses, The foundation also undertakes the paying of their parent school fees till their businesses stabilize. EWOCDI is a Social-religious non-governmental, non – profit oriented organization that promotes Godliness, morality and self reliance economically and otherwise. Tina – Sam Ibekwe Foundation is Borne out of revelation and great burden to alleviate the plight of windows in our society and also to extend a helping hand to the needy ones.

EWOCDI is concerned with the material and the spiritual well – Being of the women whose joy has been cut short due to the death of their beloved husbands; those women whose property have been confiscated by their husbands and relatives and are left to suffer, even unto death.

EWOCDI is preoccupied with a wagon of initiatives to arrest the plight of widows and their children. The Founder and President of Tina – Sam Ibekwe Foundation, Mrs. Tins Sam Ibekwe frowns at the present day Nigerian society, where widows usually face bitter experience,such as hunger, house accommodation, Inability to cater for the education of the children left behind by their late husbands, as most of these widows are left to lick the wounds of their loss of their husbands, perhaps because they died in poverty or they got short changed of their husbands property or wealth or inheritance by relatives. And worse still, they don’t have any means of livelihood and consequently wallow in abject poverty and dehumanization. The founder and president put a smile on the facesof widows through self reliant initiatives and other means of survival for them.

EWOCDI sees the need of empower the widows, their children and individual self to earn a living for themselves as a front burner of economic discourse. The Foundation emphasizes that impartation of skills remains the greatest avenue for empowering people especially the widows, the children of the widows, the abandoned and the orphans.


EWOCDI advocates the needs for forums to enhance the movement of funds from the surplus coffers to the deficient sectors, from the “much money haves” to the “money have nots”. The Foundation is of the view of the investing in people who turn out to be productive, does not only improve the lots of individuals, but also national productivity and this will have a multiplier effect on the economy and will remain a sure way of maximizing the use of funds, which would be spent on less productive ventures, or simply kept in an account to yield small interest.

EWOCDI maintains that empowering to be self-reliant is a step that guarantees. Economic sustainability, security, morality and entrepreneurship, there addressing situations which would have been characterized by high depending radio and low level of creativity.
The Foundation has also been going round the nation delivering free seminars to indigent people and widows and order to arm them with necessary tools to becoming respectable members of the society.
The Foundation over these years has provided accommodation to many widows who have problems with the place they are staying or being thrown out because of one problem or the order. They have come to the rescue of some that have been bastardized by their husbands and relatives immediately after the demise of their spouses.
